Gluten Free Brewing
Hello, friends. Over the past year, I have been working on a new R&D project involving the development of gluten-free craft beer recipes, as well as research into different business models that can serve regional markets and communities in sustainable, educational ways. The working title for the project is Wild Virginia Brewing.
If you've ever had any of the GF beer on the U.S. commercial market, then you've no doubt realized that most of them are underwhealming (at best). With a few exceptions, GF beers available to consumers don't match up to their barley-based counterparts in terms of taste, nose and body. There are manifold reasons for this, ranging from brewing challenges to economic issues. The WV Brewing project seeks to develop recipes that not only appeal to those with celiac disease and other gluten-related conditions, but to beer drinkers in general.
We are presently a small-batch, all-grain brewing operation located in southwest Virginia. Our beers come from a range of gluten-free malted grains, adjuncts and yeast.
Cherry Ale
Honey Saison
Tangerine Pale Ale
